Statement by the National Dialogue on the Current Situation in Gaza and Support for the Palestinian People

The National Dialogue affirmed that, given its Board of Trustees and the structure of its interlocutors, committees, and all its participants, they represent all factions of Egypt and its political, union, civil, youth, and popular forces, and since the Board of Trustees of the Dialogue had previously decided to postpone its work and the sessions of the National Dialogue of all kinds, until the end of the presidential electoral entitlement, out of concern for it. The dialogue remains at the same distance from all candidates, and is reconvened after its end.

However, the Board of Trustees of the Dialogue, considering that it represents the political, national and national conscience of the Egyptian people, cannot, in the face of the current dangerous escalation in proud Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the brutal Israeli occupation army attacks on the Palestinian people, and their extension to our eastern national borders, fail to emphasize the following:

First: The current escalation is very dangerous and has repercussions that may affect the security and stability of the entire region, and the Board of Trustees of the Dialogue warns in this context against compromising Egypt’s national security and its complete sovereignty over every inch of its territory and its complete and sacred unity.

Second: The need to immediately stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in all its forms, and in this regard we support all the tireless efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state at all levels.

Third: Calling on the Egyptian people with all their political, union, civil, youth and popular forces to support the Palestinian people by all legal means, foremost of which is joining the call of the “Hayat Karima” Foundation to collect donations to support this brotherly people, and allocating accounts in Egyptian banks to collect donations to provide all possible forms of support to stand by them. .

Fourth: Reaffirming the firm popular and official Egyptian position in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, most notably the establishment of their independent state on their lands before June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Fifth: Reaffirming the continued historical Egyptian position of commitment to all Arab issues, especially the Palestinian issue, which Egypt will not allow to be liquidated at the expense of other parties in any way.

Sixth: The Council’s decisive and complete condemnation of the occupation army’s denial of all resources and necessities of life to the people of Gaza, which threatens a comprehensive and serious deterioration of their humanitarian and health conditions. In this context, it appreciates the directives of the Egyptian political leadership and the efforts of civil society institutions in Egypt to deliver humanitarian aid, food and medical supplies, as is the case. With the convoys of the “National Alliance for Civil Development Action” sent to our brotherly people in the Gaza Strip.

Seventh: Emphasizing the danger of the absence of a political horizon, which exacerbates the current situation in a way that threatens the security and stability of the region, and the accompanying severe deterioration of the security and humanitarian conditions, and that achieving sustainable stability in the region requires reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with the law. International and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

Eighth: Calling on all Palestinian factions to “end division and achieve unity,” to confront the existential threats that threaten the Palestinian people, and to support the ongoing efforts made by the Egyptian state to achieve this, the most recent of which was the El Alamein meeting held two months ago and attended by leaders and secretaries of various Palestinian factions.
