Table setting
The silverware belongs to Brazilian tableware, whose name derives from the fact that it previously belonged to the Brazilian imperial family. After the death of Empress Amalia in 1873, it was inherited by her sister, Queen Dowager Josefina of Sweden.
The glass service from Kosta with design by Sigurd Persson is a wedding gift to the Royal couple in 1976 by the Riksdag and government.
Appetizer and dessert plate from Hackman-Rörstrand Gustafsberg with design by Karin Björquist is a gift to the King on his 50th birthday in 1996 from the Riksdag and government. The fish plate was ordered for Oscar I’s queen Josefina in the mid-1800s. The meat plate is from the 1850s and has belonged to Grand Duchess Louise of Baden. The cutlery was made for Karl XIV Johan in Paris and in Stockholm during the first half of the 19th century.
Tablecloths and napkins are woven in Ireland in 1959. The pattern consists of a leaf ornament around the edges of the cloth. The leaf ornament forms a nice and simple frame for Gustaf VI Adolf’s woven monogram with a crown in the center of the canvas. In all its simplicity, the GA linen is one of the most beautiful tablecloths and napkins available at Fatburen, Kungl. The castle.
