State/Private Sector: The Bobo Diverse Activities Zone soon to be developed and serviced

The closing of the 5th edition of the national State/Private Sector meeting of the Consultation and Orientation Framework for State/Private Sector Dialogue (CODESP), took place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, on a note of satisfaction.

For two days, participants reflected on “ the role of land in the promotion of productive investment in Burkina Faso “. This with the aim of identifying possible solutions to meet the challenges related to land and which negatively impact productive investment. At the end of the works, “We are all unanimous that the various land issues, specifically speculation, the procedures relating to mobilization and securing as well as the issuance of deeds limit the impact of the numerous efforts made by the Government to facilitate private investment in our country “, diagnosed the participants, according to the closing speech of Prime Minister Me Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambéla. Thus, conclusions and recommendations were drawn from discussions around the challenges of land mobilization for productive investment in Burkina Faso. These include: the rehabilitation of the industrial zones of Bobo-Dioulasso and Ouagadougou; securing land reserves; the development of land development plans; digitization of the land registry; the creation of a land mobilization committee for productive investments; sign a Joint Order to ensure the security of agricultural and livestock areas (ZAE); put in place a ZAE management procedures manual. According to the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF), Mahamadi Savadogo, « the implementation of the relevant recommendations made will allow better management of land capital to make it a lever for attracting private investment while strengthening the foundations for continuous improvement in the resilience and competitiveness of our economy”.
