State police go on patrol

The officers of the state police should again show more presence in downtown Offenbach. They are now on patrol with the city police.

With the commissioning of the new police headquarters in Southeast Hesse on Offenbach’s Spessartring, the two inner-city police stations were closed. In order to continue to show a direct presence in the city center, the state police will also use the city guard of the public order office on the market square from April 1st, in which only the city police of the public order office is currently on duty around the clock seven days a week. According to the information, the state police will be represented with fixed office hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, state police officers and city police officers will go on patrols together in the future. The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen the Offenbach population’s feeling of security through more uniformed forces in the city center, said Mayor Felix Schwenke (SPD), Head of Public Order Paul-Gerhard Weiß (FDP) and Stefan Kaaden, Chief Police Director of the Police Headquarters in Southeast Hesse.
