New Brunswick reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

Five infections were identified in the Moncton area, four in the Fredericton area and one in the Bathurst area.

The province has 143 known active cases with seven people hospitalized, including six in New Brunswick and one outside the province.

Two patients are currently in intensive care.

Health officials are also reporting that just over 60 percent of New Brunswickers aged 12 and older have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Four deaths in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia reported four new COVID-19-related deaths and 33 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

Officials say two men in their 80s and a woman in their 70s have died in the Halifax area, as well as another in their 80s in the western area.

The province said the total number of deaths per day is the highest since six deaths were reported on May 3 last year.

There are 566 known active cases of people infected in Nova Scotia and 43 people in hospital, including 18 in intensive care.

Nine cases in Newfoundland and Labrador

Newfoundland and Labrador reported nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

Health officials have identified six cases in the western health region of the province, two in the eastern region and one in the central health region.

There are four people hospitalized with the virus, and the province has reported 100 known active cases.

Health officials say they are still trying to identify the source of the infection in the central region where there is a cluster of 60 confirmed cases of people infected.
