State Grid’s first electric ship power swap station was put into operation at Yangluo Port in Wuhan.
“Woooooooo-” above the surging river water, a long cry echoed across the sky. At 11:20 a.m. on November 16, a “silent” cargo ship anchored from Wuhan Yangluo Port and sailed to Xiantao Port, 175 kilometers away on the waterway.
This Yangtze River freighter, which cannot hear the roar of the diesel engine, cannot see the black smoke at the stern, and cannot smell the smell of fuel, is the country’s first Yangtze River branch line battery-powered container liner “China Airlines New Energy 1”. As an important supporting project for the ship, Hubei Province’s first container electric ship power swap station was built and put into use at Yangluo Port at the same time.

The author saw at the Yangluo Port Terminal that the “China Airlines New Energy 1” pure electric ship was loaded with four large box-type power supplies at the stern, providing a steady stream of traveling power for the entire cargo ship.
In Yangluo Port, the first electric ship power swap station invested and built by the State Grid Corporation of China has also officially started operation. Zhang Ting, chief engineer of the Charging and Swapping Facilities Management Company of the State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company, said that when exchanging power for electric ships at the power swap station, only the container lithium batteries need to be hoisted from the ship to the power swap station, and then the fully charged box-type batteries Just hoist it back to the ship and the whole process only takes 10 minutes.
It is understood that the Yangluo Port electric ship power swap station has the largest single battery capacity in China. It is the first fully automatic plug-in device for shore power supply in China and the first liquid-cooled ship power swap station in China.

Zhang Ting told the author that the four box-type power supplies installed at the stern of the “China Airlines Xinneng 1” pure electric ship are equipped with battery-driven dual propulsion motors, which can provide 660 kilowatts of power for this 80-meter-long container freighter, with a maximum design speed 18km/h.
After its maiden voyage, the “China Airlines New Energy 1” pure electric ship was launched on the “Wuhan Yangluo Port-Xiantao Port” container transportation route in the Yangtze River Basin, replacing traditional diesel mechanically propelled transport ships with “liner-type” battery-swapping pure electric transport ships. Demonstration application.
It is understood that the ship’s annual operating power consumption is approximately 529,200 kilowatt hours, equivalent to 132 tons of alternative fuel, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 334 tons per year, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 6,685 tons throughout its life cycle.
