State government of Lower Saxony: Weil will travel to Brazil and Argentina in 2025

Lower Saxony’s Prime Minister Stephan Weil is planning a business trip to Brazil and Argentina next spring. The trip is scheduled to take place from March 16th to 23rd, as the State Chancellery announced upon request.

In South America, the SPD politician wants to address, among other things, the topics of energy, the automotive industry, agriculture and the food industry, and environmental technologies. Economic and political discussions as well as company visits are planned.

Brazil will be the partner country of the Hannover Messe in 2026. Trade fair boss Jochen Köckler justified the choice of partner country by saying that Brazil plays an important role in renewable energies and digitalization. According to the trade fair, Germany is the country’s largest European trading partner.

Weil was already in Brazil in 2014 as President of the Federal Council. At that time, he visited, among other things, a Volkswagen factory and found out about strategies for preserving the remnants of the rainforest.

Next year, the head of government also wants to travel to Poland from May 7th to 9th. The State Chancellery announced that it will be about deepening Lower Saxony’s more than 30-year-old partnerships with the Greater Poland and Lower Silesian voivodeships.
