The State Agency for Forest Resources will not be able to plant a billion trees in three years, as the plan of President Volodymyr Zelensky suggests. This was stated in the agency, informs Ukrainian News Agency on Tuesday, July 27.

“Tentatively, the agency plans to plant more than 10 million seedlings in 2021, more than 223 million in 2022, more than 230 million in 2023, and more than 266 million seedlings in 2024,” the document says.
Zelensky’s decree on the conservation of forests applies not only to state forestry enterprises, but also to all forest owners and forest users, legal entities and individuals. Goslesagenstvo is preparing proposals for creating conditions for achieving an optimal indicator of the level of forest cover.
Earlier, the Ministry of Ecology told on the prospects of Zelensky’s billion trees… Trees will be planted exclusively on new lands. A mixed forest will be planted, since it practically does not burn.
Also, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal called “quite a real task” landing billion trees. In 2021, almost UAH 20 million is provided for forest inventory, the prime minister said.
