State Duma Concerned about Departure of Lenfilm Studio Director Fyodor Shcherbakov

The State Duma is concerned about the situation at the Lenfilm film studio due to the departure of its general director Fyodor Shcherbakov. Deputy from the Leningrad region Vitaly Milonov reported this to URA.RU.

“If he left Russia a month and a half ago, he needs to be changed without any delay,” said State Duma deputy Milonov. The politician noted that “the St. Petersburg film studio should not be orphaned.”

“My comrades and I believe that our St. Petersburg film studio should not be looted. We want Lenfilm to maintain and preserve its former glory. Therefore, if someone is dishonest, we will not allow this,” Milonov added.

The need to replace the general director of Lenfilm Fyodor Shcherbakov also insisted ex-head of the film studio Eduard Pichugin. According to him, a person in such a position should not be constantly absent from the workplace and manage the organization remotely.

Earlier about the desire to hear official comments about the whereabouts of Fyodor Shcherbakov from the Federal Property Management Agency and the Ministry of Culture of Russia (their representatives are on the board of directors of Lenfilm) stated URA.RU in the Union of Cinematographers of St. Petersburg, as well as other representatives State Duma. The agency sent appeals to departments on this issue. There was no response from the Ministry of Culture on this issue. Representatives of the Federal Property Management Agency declined to comment in detail.

According to URA.RU sources, Fedor Shcherbakov a month and a half ago could have left to Turkey. In their opinion, he could have left the country due to the arrest of PR specialist Anton Safonov in the case of extortion from the top management of Rostec. Safonov had common projects with the head of Lenfilm.
