State Defense Council Requests Investigation into Audio Leak Scandal

The president of State Defense Council (CDE) Raúl Letelier, requested to open a file for the process due to the scandal that was generated after the audio leak who has the lawyer in his sights Luis Hermosilla.

“It is shocking because of the tenor of what is said in those audios since, of course, these are situations that, if effective, constitute a crime,” Letelier pointed out.

The purpose of opening a folder is to “follow the investigation that the Prosecutor’s Office is currently developing, verify what background information exists, verify how this investigation is progressing to make the corresponding decisions.”

Regarding the feeling of distrust that this fact generates in State institutions, Letelier pointed out that “it is a generalized situation that occurs not only in Chile, but in the world, and the fact that it exists in many places shows that it is a phenomenon that must be looked at more closely”.

“The institutions are the ones that produce guarantees and, therefore, the State Defense Council will do everything possible to seek responsibilities, if any, verifying whether these antecedents are effective,” he concluded.
