“Fall” because of Covid-19

Beres.id is part of a Malaysian startup called Kaodim. This home service company also operates in Singapore and the Philippines.

Co-founder and CEO of Kaodim Choong Fui Yu explained, the Covid-19 pandemic for 2 years was the culprit.

He explained that the things that had an impact on the business were operational disruptions, labor shortages, and higher operational costs.

“So it is with a heavy heart that we announce that starting July 1, 2022, Beres and all of its affiliated platforms will no longer operate,” said Choong Fui Yu, quoted by Kompas.com, Wednesday (8/7/2022).

Permanent employee severance pay

He added that this decision was also catalyzed by recent inflation and cost increases. Choong said this affected customer and service provider demand.

“This also affects margins and in turn (affects) our income,” he added.

Even so, his party promised to continue to provide obligations to employees.

Meanwhile, the obligations to these employees will be in the form of severance payments and other rights they get.

As reported earlier, several startups were informed of termination of employment (PHK), such as Link Aja, Tani Hub, Zenuis, Pahamfy, and others.
