Starting today, children ages 5 to 11 can begin receiving the Covid-19 vaccine at city-run vaccination sites.
In addition, next week immunization will also be available in hundreds of public schools.
New York City hospitals and vaccination centers now offer the pediatric dose of Pfizer’s vaccine.
The city has almost a quarter of a million doses available.
Mayor Bill de Blasio had announced this date as a “historic day” in which the vaccination of children would begin.
“We will bring the vaccination sites to ALL @NYCSchools buildings this month to make this as easy as possible, but appointments will also be available at: NYC.Gov/Vax4NYC“wrote the mayor in a message on social networks.
We’re prepared to start vaccinating 5-11 year old New Yorkers TOMORROW.
