Currently streaming services Baltic NENT Group uses less than 20% of the 2.8 million households in all three countries, which is significantly less than in the Nordic countries, where around 50% of the population choose this service, according to the NENT Group. Taking into account that most people in the Baltic States already have access to high-speed fixed and mobile broadband Internet, the growth of streaming service users is expected, he forecasts.

NENT Group’s streaming services Viaplay have so far been available in the Nordic countries, but the first step has now been taken to expand, choosing the Baltic States as a place for international development. The subscription fee is set at 9.99 euros per month, similar to other countries.

Anders Jensen, Chairman of the Board of NENT Group, said: “Today, with the launch of operations in the Baltic region, we are taking a big and important step in the growth of Viaplay.”

Viaplay content is made up of four different categories: original creations, movies and TV series, content for children and sports broadcasts. It is planned to add “Viaplay” content every month.

In 2021, it is planned to start work in Poland and the United States, followed by five more countries by 2023. The NENT Group is headquartered in Stockholm and is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange.
