The filming of the Student Song and Dance Festival concert performance “Above the Earth” has started, in which 95 dance groups are participating. The filming will take place in 19 municipalities and what has come of it will be seen on Latvian Television this autumn.
The patch is covered with toes, demanding dance leaders and scorching rays of the sun – almost like in a stadium at a dance festival. The day is carefully divided into minutes, each dance group has its own time. The costumes are hung on a fence. They will only be dragged shortly before filming. The dancing itself takes place on a deck of grass burned in the sun.
On July 11, filming will take place in Jelgava. The work has already been done in Dobele and Tukums. If everything happened without a hitch in Dobele, then there was heavy rain in Tukums. The schedule is tight. A total of filming will take place in 19 municipalities.
Together with one and a half thousand young people, the group “Tautumeitas” participates in the concert performance, which performs various arrangements of compositions. The idea stems from Imants Ziedonis’ core values - to grow in beauty, responsibility, creativity, wisdom, compassion, friendship and love.
Filming and other events will start in all municipalities next week. All this will be seen on Latvian television and other digital platforms.
