Starting Tomorrow, Only 742 Lab Test Results Become Flight Requirements

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

During the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Emergency Java-Bali 3-20 July 2021, the government tightens flight requirements. Prospective passengers are required to show negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)/antigen swab test results issued by 742 laboratories registered with the Ministry of Health.

For laboratories that have not entered data into the New All Record (NAR) or that have not been registered with the Ministry of Health, the issued PCR/antigen swab test will not be valid for flights starting Monday (12/7) tomorrow.

“The check-in process with the Pedulilindungi application will be tested for flights on the Jakarta-Bali and Bali-Jakarta routes, starting Monday, July 5, 2021 until July 12, 2021. For labs that have not entered data into NAR, starting Monday, July 12, 2021, the results of the PCR/antigen swab are not valid for flights,” said the official website of the Ministry of Health, Sunday (11/7).

Prospective passengers who want to fly are also required to show proof of having vaccinated against Covid-19 at least for the first dose.

Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, explained that the tightening of flying conditions was carried out to ensure the safety of every passenger while traveling and suppress the spread of Covid-19.

“With this new mechanism, passenger health checks are carried out at departure and not at arrival, so that passengers can feel safer and more comfortable,” said Budi.

The checking mechanism with NAR big data will also be carried out at the time of booking tickets on the airline or online, and will be expanded to land and sea transportation modes in the near future.

The 742 laboratories registered with the Ministry of Health are listed in Decree of the Minister of Health (PMK) Number HK.01.07/Menkes/4642/2021 concerning the Organization of the Covid-19 Examination Laboratory.
