Starting today, Korean tourists can visit China without a visa.
The Chinese government will implement a visa exemption system for Korean citizens holding ordinary passports until December next year.
Visitors to China for work, tourism, visiting relatives, etc. can stay in China without a visa for up to 15 days.
This is the first time that China has exempted Korea from visas since the establishment of diplomatic ties, increasing the total number of countries exempted from visas by China to 29.
This policy was unilaterally implemented by the Chinese government on Korean citizens, and Chinese nationals visiting our country still need to obtain a visa.
As demand for visits to China is expected to increase due to this measure, the Embassy in China has provided precautions for Korean citizens.
The embassy stated that this visa waiver measure is limited to regular passport holders and does not apply to emergency passport holders.
At the same time, he advised people to prepare a return flight ticket when visiting China and to comply with the obligation to register as a temporary resident of foreigners if they live in a place other than a hotel.
In particular, we asked people to pay attention to the recently strengthened anti-espionage law and refrain from filming in areas near military or security control facilities or visiting protest sites.
