Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The mysterious acute hepatitis has now spread to various countries in Asia and America. This inflammatory liver disease first appeared in Japan on April 21 last.
Initially, this mysterious hepatitis was discovered in a child who tested negative for adenovirus and Covid-19. Japan’s health ministry said the patient had not yet undergone a liver transplant, without providing further details The GuardianSaturday (30/4/2022).
Until a few days ago, this case was reported to have attacked 190 people. Most of them, 140 children, are in Europe. The World Health Organization (WHO) said at least one death had been reported in connection with the outbreak, without saying the country’s location. The UN health agency said cases occurred in children aged between 1 month and 16 years.
Hepatitis is usually caused by one of several infectious hepatitis viruses, but these have not been found in affected children. Jaundice, diarrhea, and abdominal pain are some of the reported symptoms.
So, has this disease entered Indonesia?
Secretary of the Directorate General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that there had been no reports of the mysterious hepatitis disease.
“There have been no reports of mysterious hepatitis in Indonesia,” said Siti Nadia, quoted from detik.com.
Nadia appealed to the public to continue to be vigilant, especially if they experience symptoms of jaundice in the long term. People with mysterious hepatitis usually experience the following symptoms:
– Urine with a brown color like tea water
– Pain or discomfort in the stomach
– Fever
– Nausea and vomiting
– Stomach problems
– Light stool color
