Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the country’s government will take the first step to build 200,000 homes in 11 states, next March.
He pointed out, in a press statement in the state of Kahramanmaraş in southern Turkey, after his visit to a gathering of prefabricated houses for the benefit of the double earthquake victims that occurred on February 6, that “about a third of Kahramanmaraş has become uninhabitable as a result of the double earthquake,” pointing to “the completion of the monument 10,000 prefabricated homes were built in the earthquake zone, and work continues to establish 65,000 others.
“We will raise the number to 100,000, and if needed, we will raise it to 200,000,” Erdogan said, stressing, “We will start, God willing, in laying the foundation stone for 45,067 homes in March in Kahramanmaraş, and start building them.” And he stressed that “the houses will be built in safe places, so that they do not exceed 3 or 4 floors.”
