Guilty pleasure

Homemade monchou pie, apple crumble pie or cheesecake: just about every pie is ours guilty pleasure. It’s a pity that it’s not healthy to eat a lot of food every day. At least… that’s what we thought. Because a recent study shows something completely different. And we like the results!

Experiment

Researchers did an experiment with two groups of people. One group had a breakfast with lots of carbohydrates and proteins, and then also had a piece of cake for dessert. The other group started the day with a low-calorie breakfast. And guess what? The group that had breakfast with cake had less difficulty maintaining a healthy diet during the day. In contrast to the second group, these people snacked much less during the rest of the day.

Lose weight faster

In the long term, this means that people who start the day with a filling breakfast and a piece of cake will lose weight more easily than people who have little or no breakfast. The idea behind it is actually quite logical: because you treat yourself to something tasty in the morning, you have less need for something unhealthy afterwards.

Healthy diet

Of course, it remains important to maintain a healthy and varied diet. We doubt whether we should start every day with a huge piece of whipped cream cake. But an extra portion of sprinkles on your sandwich can’t hurt. And we’ll just keep that cheesecake with coffee on the weekend.
