Start times individual time trial Renewi Tour 2024 – Can Mathieu van der Poel limit the damage?

Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:30 PM

In the Renewi Tour (and its predecessors) there is an almost annual battle against the clock, so it should come as no surprise that the organization has scheduled a 15.4 kilometer time trial on day two. Who will do well for the classification? CyclingFlash List the most important starting times.

The starting podium is set up on the Schoterweg and then it goes in a south-westerly direction – via Vlugt – to the Rodenberg. There the riders take a sharp bend to the right, to then race via the Sparrenweg to Schoot. This is a hamlet and parish west of Tessenderlo. Here we also get an indication of who is doing well and who is not on their time trial bike: after 9.3 kilometers the second measuring point follows.

Once past this intermediate point, it is another six kilometres to the finish. Via the Schoterweg and Wetsberg, it goes at a fast trot – and mainly straight roads – to the last kilometres in Tessenderlo. In the final kilometre, there are two more sharp bends before the riders clock a finishing time in the Stationsstraat, where the finish line of this time trial is located.

Conclusion? It is a relatively flat and fast time trial, although there are some elevation changes and (sharp) bends along the way, which take the speed out of it more than once.

The riders start every minute, with the exception of the riders in the provisional top 10. They leave every two minutes. Alex Edmondson will be the first rider to roll off the starting podium at 12:30. Yesterday’s stage winner, Jonathan Milan, will be the last to go. The leader of the general classification will leave at 15:15.
