Start of the 14th season at CBC

Murdoch Mysteries (c) CBC

The 14th season of the crime series Murdoch Mysteries starts today in Canada, in which Murdoch and his colleagues investigate, among other things, in the theater environment.

This Monday, January 4th, 2021, the 14th season of Murdoch Mysteries celebrates its premiere on CBC. Eleven new episodes are then on the program of the long-running crime thriller from Canada.

In „Murdoch Mysteries“It’s about Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), who solves criminal cases in Toronto around 1890 using methods that were progressive for his time, such as taking fingerprints and blood samples, as well as a keen eye for every little detail. Since his investigative methods are far too progressive for his time, he repeatedly offends the investigating police and, above all, their chief investigator, Inspector Brackenreid (Thomas Craig). But Murdoch can always rely on his team, the doctor Julia Ogden (Helene Joy) and his rather inexperienced colleague Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris).

In the first new episode, titled Murdoch and the Tramp, a man falls to his death during the Victoria Day festivities. During their investigation, Murdoch and Crabtree encounter Charlie Chaplin (Matthew Finlan), who claims the victim was a disgrace to the comedian world and had a fight with Ed Ward the previous night. Ward, on the other hand, says Stan Laurel (Ryan Tapley) was the one who argued with the dead man. Should the victim be someone else?

Actor Yannick Bisson directs the first two episodes. Other directors include Peter Mitchell, Gary Harvey, Warren Sonoda, Mina Shum and Ruba Nadda.
