Foundation promotes competition.
(BZ). The nationwide digital math competition “Maths in Advent” will start again on December 1st. Pupils in grades three to ten from all types of schools as well as teachers and interested parties can register for this. The Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation from Waldkirch supports the competition with 85,000 euros and pays the participation fees for the schools in the Freiburg administrative region, according to a statement.
The action is accompanied by so-called math elves. According to the communication, you will encounter challenges such as climate change, sustainable mobility and health issues and experience how mathematics can be used to describe the complexity of the world and examine social issues. In the digital math advent calendar, daily math puzzles should bring fun puzzling, discovering and exploring. There are prizes to be won for individual players, classes and schools. After the award ceremony in Berlin had to be canceled due to corona, the organizers hope to be able to welcome the winners this time in Berlin on February 11, 2022.
