Start & Drive from AXA: Cheap Insurance and Flexibility for New Drivers

More freedom, more flexibility, more convenience: every year, many young people fulfill their long-awaited dream of driving when they pass their driving test. The driver’s license at 17 has long been established, and from 18 you can finally drive without an escort. Provided, of course, that you also have a car. Very few new drivers afford their own car right away. Not only is the purchase expensive, but also the insurance is usually expensive.

“Unfortunately, statistically speaking, novice drivers actually cause more and greater damage. That’s why they have to accept higher contributions.”explained Jörg SteinhauerHead of Product Management Motor Insurance at AXA.

For many this means: First of all, use the car of parents, grandparents, older siblings or friends. But this is usually expensive: the user group has to be individually adjusted in every contract. If the insurance company takes on a young driver, the contract becomes significantly more expensive – and it is also complex.

Jörg Steinhauer: “It’s much easier with “Start & Drive” from AXA: Young drivers sign their own contract and are allowed to drive all cars, light motorcycles/scooters, motorcycles or trucks insured by AXA or DBV in company traffic with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons , without you having to report it to us. The contribution for the vehicles you travel with remains unchanged. In addition, young drivers build up their own claims-free years and can therefore start their first vehicle with AXA at ​​a significantly lower cost.”

There is a fixed price – no hidden costs. Two variants are possible: Start & Drive compact – for the use of the vehicles of all people living in the household (27.42 euros per month including insurance tax) or Start & Drive comfort for the use of all vehicles insured by AXA or DBV (30, 75 Euros per month including insurance tax). So nothing stands in the way of your next weekend trip with your family or best friend’s car.
