Stars off Qatar’s World Cup roster

The coaches of the national teams participating in the 2022 World Cup have released the lists of players who will defend their country’s colors at the World Cup in Qatar, and it has been noted that there are no big names for the players active in the five major leagues in the world.

France

The coach of the “Roosters” team, Didier Deschamps, excluded goalkeeper Mike Minan from the squad that was supposed to participate in the World Cup in Qatar.

Deschamps has not called up well-known names in the European leagues, including Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy, Monaco player Wissam Ben Yedder, Parma player Marcus Thuram, Bayern Leverkusen player Moussa Diaby and active Randall Kolo Mwani in the ranks of the German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The “Roosters” will play their first World Cup match on November 22 against Australia in Group D, which also includes Denmark and Tunisia.

Brazil

The Brazilian national team, one of the candidates for the title of “Qatar World Cup”, enters with a squad known for the absence of Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino from the squad, and is the most visible surprise in the list announced by coach Tite.

The latter preferred to seek the help of Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, absent from the last national team training camp, while Philippe Coutinho will also be absent from the team crowned with five World Cups (record).

Celciao begins his World Cup career in Qatar on the 24th of this month against Serbia in Group G, which also includes Switzerland and Cameroon.

Germany

Mats Hummels, the heart of Dortmund’s defence, will be among the most notable absentees from the German national team after being left out by coach Hansi Flick. The same goes for Real Madrid midfielder and former Manshaft star Toni Kroos.

Germany will start their matches in Qatar against Japan on the 23rd of this month, in Group E, which also includes Spain and Costa Rica.

Spain

The Spanish national team, who won the title for the first time in their history, in 2010, will try to win their second title in Qatar, but in the absence of some of their stars, first and foremost Sergio Ramos, the heart of the French defense of Paris Saint-Germain now and former Real Madrid.

The “Matador” list announced by coach Luis Enrique on Friday included 26 players, not even goalkeeper David De Gea’s name.

The list also lacked the name of the Parisian player of the “BSJ”, Fabian Ruiz, and of the Liverpool midfielder, Thiago Alcantara.

The list of absentees from Enrique’s squad also includes Inigo Martinez (Athletic Bilbao) and Marcos Alonso (Barcelona) in defense, and Borja Iglesias, Real Betis striker.

England

The roster of the England national team is also devoid of several notable names, the most prominent of which is Tammy Abraham, the forward of the Italian club’s Roma.

And the coach of the “Three Lions” justified not having called Abraham by saying that he was “going through a bad time at the wrong time”.

It was reported on Thursday that manager Gareth Southgate would not call up James Madison, who has featured at a high level in a Leicester shirt since the start of the current season, but the list released on Thursday night saw his name inserted into the offensive line .

England will begin their campaign in Qatar against Iran on 21 November, before playing the United States and then Wales in Group Two.
