Starnet buys three ISPs, market consolidation continues

Českobudějovická společnost Starnet buys three internet providers and is thus part of the ongoing consolidation in the domestic market. Starnet acquired the company Modern communication, which includes providers NET2U, Zelnet and Solar Energy Bohemian Paradise. The purchased entity ceases to exist, Starnet merged.

Starnet is one of the largest Internet providers in our country. O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Nej.cz and Nordic Telecom Regional fall into a similar category.

“We would like to be a nationwide operator,” stated earlier for Lupa Tomáš Šimek from the provider Necosswhich falls under Starnet. The České Budějovice company controls dozens of smaller players, in addition to Necoss and the newly purchased, for example Kdyne.net, OtavaNet, D1net, Internet 7D and others.

Starnet is the majority owner Martin Ambrož, holds 60 percent of the company. Radek Krejča controls the remaining 40 percent.
