Starlink has renamed one of its previous usage plans, Starlink for RV (which was for recreational vehicles, or homes on wheels) to Starlink Roam. This means that users have the opportunity to receive internet roaming anywhere in the world.
SpaceX’s official announcement mentions that this subscription plan will be available to people who travel a lot, especially to places where the internet is not stable or available. As a result, the price of the service has risen, which previously cost 150 dollars per month, but now it will be 200 dollars. On our side, the fee will be 230 euros.
But these are not the only investments. To use the Starlink Roam plan, you will need to purchase one Starlink receiver, which costs $599. However, in order for the Internet to be available while on the move, for example, when traveling in a bus, you will need to purchase an additional terminal. It will cost 2,500 dollars, so real use of Starlink Internet on the move will require a large investment.
Another limitation will be that if you are in a different region for more than two months, which does not match the original Starlink settings, you will have to change the address settings. This is due to the fact that internet usage is highly dependent on regional settings and the user’s location.
