Starlink satellite internet service will have global coverage in September

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell says Elon Musk-owned satellite Internet service SpaceX will have global coverage when it has 1,800 satellites in orbit. According to estimates made by SpaceX itself, this will happen in September this year.

1,800 satellites will not be enough to provide the quality and speed connections that the American company has set for itself, but they are enough to cover the entire planet. According to official documents, SpaceX wants to launch 12,000 for the Starlink service.

This does not mean that SpaceX will already be able to sell Starlink subscriptions worldwide from September. Musk’s company must also obtain the necessary permits for each region in which it wants to operate.

Starlink is currently available in a small number of countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. On the other hand, Starlink has already registered subsidiaries in several countries, not in Romania, so far.

The first users of Starlink’s satellite internet service complained about the signal problem, which can be affected by various obstacles, such as trees or poles. The situation could improve dramatically as SpaceX launches more and more satellites into orbit.
