A video posted on Reddit explains better than words the huge improvements made to Starfield’s lighting system by the latest patch released by Bethesda and currently in beta. We are talking about the beta version of the major update 1.9.47, available for download on Steam.
The video, posted by user TERAB1T, shows a conversation with Frankie, one of the game’s many NPCs, recorded with the current version 1.8.88 and then with the new patch. You can watch this video here.
As you can see, the lighting looks more natural in the new version, and the spotlight effect from the old version is gone.
According to several users, some minor lighting issues remained, but they are now much better.
For others, we remind you that Starfield is available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
