Starfield Wins Controversial Award, Sparks Negative Reviews on Steam

Starfield, which was considered one of the most anticipated releases of 2023, became one of the most talked about games of last year. Despite the mixed reaction, the game was nominated for one of the main awards from Steam.

In a shocking turn of events, the role-playing game won this award and the reaction to it was not positive. Many could not come to terms with this outcome, and the award caused a wave of negative reviews of the game on Steam.

As you can see in the image above, the latest reviews on Starfield’s Steam page are negative and point to the game’s latest reward. Although both players spent around 30-50 hours in the game, their negative reviews stated that the RPG should not have received this award.

Many have speculated that the game was downvoted in an attempt to troll Bethesda, but it’s unlikely that the movement was big enough to propel the game to victory.

Despite many controversies, the role-playing game still managed to surpass Baldur’s Gate 3 in the number of hours spent in the game. It also became one of the best-selling releases on Steam, becoming a major commercial success for Xbox and Bethesda.
