Released at the beginning of September, Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG Starfield is experiencing significant player churn, according to data from Steam. Since this is a single-player title that a significant percentage of players bought immediately after release and probably finished it after more than two months, this is not a surprising phenomenon. In the case of Starfield, however, the drop is so significant that it is currently playing the new product from Bethesda comparable and in some moments even smaller number of players than 12 year old Skyrim.
He is currently playing both titles according to data from the platform SteamDB at one time approximately 10 to 20 thousand players. At the same time, Starfield’s record, which it reached immediately after its release, is more than 330 thousand connected users at one moment. In addition to the single-player focus, it also undoubtedly has an effect on the number of active players on Steam inclusion of the game in Game Passwhere Starfield enjoys greater popularity thanks to its more accessible model.
Despite these factors, it’s clear that the Steam numbers for Bethesda’s ambitious new RPG don’t exactly sound good. We’ll see if the developers manage to convince players to return via planned expansions. Our review will offer you details about the game itself.
