Players are already counting down the days and hours until they will be able to play Starfield and see for yourself whether it really contains the minimum number of bugs as claimed by several sources. Meanwhile, however, some players are disappointed with the limitations that planet exploration has.
Todd Howard has pointed this out before, but he put it side by side when he talked about exploring places around the player. After the recent leak, the words of the head of Bethesda Game Studios make more sense. It turned out that it will not be possible to orbit the entire planet.
Each planet seems to have its limits. For some it is said to be 40 minutes, for others it can be significantly less (for a “dead” planet with sand and stones it is said to be 10 minutes) and for others it may be more, where you can go in one direction before you hit the limits, beyond which the game won’t let go
The developers had the planets can be divided into regions and it will be possible to explore the one in which you land with the ship. Then, of course, you can land at another point and embark on further exploration…
The division into regions brings one thing that bothers me personally. It can be seen in the video below. It looks like if you start exploring a planet around a city, you’ll have to land in it to get to it later. Fortunately, you can always teleport to the ship and initiate a landing elsewhere. This is possible almost everywhere. Each planet will have major landing sites, where there are main points of interest, such as a city. What you can’t do is land on water. It is said that some have already tried that, they also tried to swim, which is also not possible. Instead, the character walks on water (second video below). It can even jump in the water.
In order not to end on a completely negative note, according to some, the planets are not supposed to be so barren. Yes, they look dead, they may only be covered in sand and rocks, but they’re still quite fun to explore (it’s supposed to have a Star Trek feel) and they have some points of interest. Unfortunately, they have not yet been specified in more detail.
The question is whether all the information is really true, because it is not entirely clear whether the player who informed about this restriction was not in the learning area. Therefore, we recommend taking the leak with a grain of salt. On the other hand, more and more players are gradually talking about him on social networks.
Here is a comparison of how long it takes to complete a map with other open world games. Statistics are provided by the YouTube channel 8-Bit Bastard.
Just Cause 2 – 5 hours The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – 2 hours and 10 minutes Grand Theft Auto V – 2 hours and 1 minute GTA San Andreas – 1 hour and 35 minutes Watch Dogs – 1 hour and 33 minutes Red Dead Redemption – 1 hour and 25 minutes Minecraft ( Xbox One / PS4) – 52 minutes Minecraft (Xbox 360 / PS3) – 6 minutes
Starfield will be released on 9/6 of this year on Xbox Series X/S and PC and will be in Game Pass. Owners of the more expensive edition can start playing from September 1.
