Starfield Introduces In-Flight Pickpocketing Mechanics: A Fun and Immersive Feature

It appears Starfield is making major changes to the pickpocketing mechanics. For Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, we’ll be stealing from NPCs on the fly.

This means that, as OkPain2022 As shown in the Reddit post, we’ll follow our markers as we check their pockets. Unlike Skyrim and Fallout, where you could spend any amount of time browsing someone’s inventory when the world stopped around you, in Starfield we’re going to have to pickpocket fast.

It’s not the biggest change in the world, but it seems like another fun and immersive feature Bethesda is bringing to Starfield. Some have wondered if lockpicking would have a similar fate, since it’s more stressful to pick a lock if time doesn’t stop when you do it.

How do you feel about this change? Does instant pickpocketing make you rob NPCs more or less blindly?
