Starfield Game Issues: Complaints, Bugs, and Instability on Intel Arc Graphics Cards

After the release of the Starfield game, very quickly there were complaints from users that the game could not be started at all or that it took tens of minutes to start. If it succeeds, graphic anomalies and crashes occur.

Intel eventually released drivers that the official documentation says fixes three of the seven bugs (in this documentation) listed. The game can be started, it should be a bit more stable and the characters don’t lack eyebrows (interesting bug). However, other bugs remained – the game is still not fully stable, textures on some objects are of very poor quality (low resolution), some textures flicker, image errors occur when using Dynamic Resolution Scaling.

Above you can see the statement of Bethesda technical support about problems (instability) on Intel Arc graphics cards. Tech support explained that the Arc A770 does not meet the minimum requirements for the game Starfield, so support will look into the problem (game crashes), but options are limited. In other words, there is not much chance that the situation will be resolved.

Bethesda lists AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 or Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 1070 Ti as minimum graphics card requirements. Although the Arc A770 is generally roughly comparable to the Radeon RX 5700 in gaming performance and about a quarter faster than the GeForce RTX 1070 Ti, it is not supported.

There are rumors in user threads that Bethesda did not provide Intel with copies of the game in time for testing, countered by rumors that Intel did not provide Bethesda with hardware to test the game on.
