Starfield Beta Patch 1.8.83: Fixes and Enhancements for PC Players

Starfield recently received beta patch 1.8.83 for PC, and according to analysis by Digital Foundry, this update fixes almost every issue the game had at launch, giving players the build they deserve to see this September.

Available in beta for a few days, the Starfield update officially introduces support for DLSS 2 and DLSS 3, technologies that significantly improve performance on NVIDIA hardware.

Either way, minus the scaling techniques, the update improves performance by up to 20% on the fastest CPUs, addressing challenging framerate situations and balancing the behavior of NVIDIA and AMD GPUs compared to the previous version.

As mentioned, the update solves almost all the problems that Starfield had when launching on PC, although there are still a few things missing. HDR support, for example, is far from optimal, and the game feels like it’s using Microsoft’s automatic settings.

To complete the picture, it would also be worth adding to the scaling options Intel XeSS technology, which has been greatly improved in recent years and can help improve the experience for users using these GPUs.
