Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone confirmed the upcoming update in a tweet on Sunday but did not specify a release date. According to him, the patch for 1.6 will add new dialogue, however, the new content will be “much less than” patch 1.5, which rolled out in December 2020 and included new areas, enemies, quests, and events.
Barone also mentioned that much of the update is devoted to mod support; he paused the development of his studio’s next game, Haunted Chocolatier, to get the update released. The new game, similar to Stardew Valley, does not currently have a release date.
