“My participation in this competition has sparked a social debate. And the longer I was in it, the more glad I was that I decided to go in it. Adriana has a great gift for empathizing with people, and I thank her for what she brought out of me,” said Josef Maršálek.
He also thanked his siblings, grandmothers and partner Martin, for whom, according to him, it was not easy. “But StarDance also gave me a new family, and I’m very happy for that,” he said.
“I think we leave happy and fulfilled. We went through a beautiful and unexpected journey for me. Josef is a great person and thank you for putting me in touch with him. It was very rewarding for me,” added Adriana Mašková.

Five couples fought for advancement.
Darija Pavlovičová with Dominik Vodička, Vavřinec Hradilek with Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková, Iva Kubelková with Martin Prágre, Josef Maršálek with Adriana Mašková and Eva Adamczyková with Jakub Mazůch danced two dances, one solo (standard or Latin – American) and the other so-called contemporary with dancers from 420People and Losers Cirque Company.
StarDance for the seventh time: The charity evening raised over twenty million crowns
The jury sat in a different composition this time. Tatiana Drexler fell ill, so she was replaced by Václav Kuneš, who was also a judge before, is now a choreographer and participated in competitive contemporary dances. Otherwise, everything remained in the same composition. The dancers were accompanied live by Martin Kumžák’s Moondance Orchestra, Epoque Quartet and soloists Dasha, Naďa Wepperová, Dušan Kollár and Michal Cerman.

Eva Adamczyková was the first to dance quickstep with Jakub Mazůch. Richard Genzer was enthusiastic about the beautiful dance and posture, for Václav Kuneš, their dance had dynamics and risks, and Zdeněk Chlopčík appreciated the choreography, which according to him was carried out to the end. “You Evo was faster than Cuba, you can’t do that,” he scolded. The jury awarded their dance with three nines.

As the second, they danced an impressive dance to the song Andělská by Zuzana Navarová, performed by Dasha. “It was our favorite song with dad,” said Eva Adamczyk. “It’s a bit about my mom, sis. Message up there. Every time someone leaves you, you feel like you want to chat with them, drink coffee with them,” she added.
The boy really liked the dance. “Huge range of motion, you couldn’t see the difference between the pros and you,” he said. “Unbound, free, that’s your floor,” stated Genzer. “You chose subtlety in the story and in the music and you were able to convey it to us,” said Kuneš. Three tens was the reward.
Iva Kubelková and Martin Prágr
The first dance of Ivy Kubelková and Martin Prágr was a slowfox. After it ended, moderator Marek Eben asked if Kubelková had won a car when she was second in the Miss pageant. “The first girl won the car, the third, who was also Miss sympathy, and I, as the second, got a washing machine,” Kubelková made the audience laugh.
The couple got two eights and one nine for the dance. Kuneš would like to see more energy in the gestures, in this he agreed with Chlopčík, who added that slowfox should be smoother. Genzer responded that even Harry Potter would have problems with it.

The contemporary dance of Iva Kubelková and Martin Prágr was to a song by Lewis Capaldi, who suffers from Tourette’s syndrome. “They say art doesn’t need to explain itself. Everyone imagines their own story,” Eben said after it ended. “I wanted it to express an emotion that can bring people together,” added Kubelková.
“I love these contemporary dance rounds, you’re all relaxed. Beauty,” Genzer said. “Ivo, you are perceptive and open, you have the ability to process everything,” Kuneš praised her. “You are a multifunctional dancer,” added Chlopčík. They punctuated the dance with three nines.

Josef Maršálek and Adriana Mašková first danced the quickstep. “Josífka, you look beautiful. You come, you dance, you smile. If the quickstep steps were not necessary, you would have a ten, not like this,” said Chlopčík. “I agree with Zdenek, the dance is useless there,” added Genzer. “Marshal’s minimalist step may be taught at the conservatory,” he laughed. Kuneš highlighted how the Marshal leads his dancers brilliantly. The jury awarded the dance with two sevens and a six.

Their current dance was to a song from the movie Slumdog Millionaire. “They say about India that it doesn’t give you what you want, it gives you what you need. I think it offers a wonderful clash with reality,” said Maršálek, who, according to him, lived in India for two years after the dance.
“You hear music, which is not so obvious for everyone, and you have an eye for detail. You have the gift of creating the maximum from the minimum,” said Kuneš. “I admired you and when I looked at the whole company and you in the middle, I thought to myself that the others there are useless. He looks at you very well,” added Chlopčík. “The marshal really dances, my head already evaluated it during the performance,” said Genzer.

Vavřinec Hradilek and Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková first danced the cha-chu. And they surprised again with jacks. As the dancer said after the dance, they were chosen by the audience in a poll. “The whole cha-cha reminded me of my marriage. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t,” Genzer said. According to Kuneš, he was surprised by how Hradilek kept the rhythm. Chlopčík also appreciated him along with his technique and arm hold. But he criticized that there was no overall body movement. They received two eights and a seven from the jury.

According to Eben, the second dance with the company was proof that Hradilek shows that he always wants to learn something new. “Vávra, in my opinion, that was your best dance in StarDance. I think what you danced today, that huge experience… I really liked it,” he added. “The certainty is there. I also really like your strength, but I think we could also find some opposites,” added Kuneš. Hradilek won the top ten from Chlopčík, nine from Genzer and eight from Kuneš.

The third slowfox of the evening was the one danced by Darija Pavlovičová and Dominik Vodička. And right after him, the first tens fell from the jury. Two, by Richard Genzer and Zdenek Chlopčík. Václav Kuneš gave an eight and said: “The figures with Dominik were beautiful, but when you are alone, you are bound by the form.” But Chlopčík pointed out that the couples only have a week to rehearse the dance. “A person who has experienced it can get into the dance,” he added, adding that this one was very nice after a week of rehearsals.

“Originally we wanted to come out of the film Requiem for a Dream, in the end we took from it the idea of an internal battle with internal demons, ailments,” Pavlovičová explained the second dance.
“I appreciate the courage you had to go it alone,” Genzer stated. “You have enormous inner strength and it shows in your dance. It would just be good to add control of the whole body to that strength,” said Kuneš. According to Chlopčík, who liked it very much, it is very difficult to discover this in yourself. “You looked very beautiful in that,” he added. They received the same rating from the jury as for the first dance.
Last week there was no elimination, because the evening was a benefit, dedicated to the Umbrella Centre. The same number of couples went to the eighth, again elimination, round – five. The points awarded to them by the jury at the charity evening were not forfeited. They were added to those obtained by the dancers at the eighth evening, together with the votes of the spectators.
