Starc holds the record of being the Australian player who has taken the most five wickets in ODIs. In just 109 matches, the player took five wickets nine times. The player surpassed Aussie legend Brett Lee. Brett Lee has also celebrated five-wicket hauls nine times, but it took him 217 matches to do so. Starc has overtaken Brett Lee to take the most five-wicket haul in fewer matches.
Starc is the third most five-wicket taker in the world. Pakistan’s Waqar Younis tops the list with 13 five-wicket hauls in 258 matches. Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan is second with 10 five-wicket hauls in 341 matches. Starc is followed by Brett Lee at fourth and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi at fifth. Afridi played 372 matches and took five wickets nine times.
