During the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live episode, Starbreeze released a live-action trailer for Payday 3, which shows the Payday gang kicking off their usual tricks. While in Germany, we had the chance to play Payday 3 and speak with Starbreeze’s Global Brand Director, Almir Listo, and we decided to ask a very important question: When is the Payday movie coming out?
Listo tells us: “Yes,So we released a five-minute live-action trailer, which we taped earlier in the spring. It’s a very interesting job for us. The team had a lot of fun making this happen. It’s really a tribute to Payday 2, right? We did this 10 years ago, and we did it for the last time a few years ago.
Listo continued,“It all has to do with the fact that we announced a studio earlier this year, right? Starbreeze Entertainment announced that we were considering making a movie or TV show with a company called Stockholm Syndrome. So we’re currently looking into it …but by the looks of it, the community wants to see it happen. We’re going to do our best to make sure that, you know, whatever shape or form it happens, it’s going to be as good as possible.
While it doesn’t look like a Payday movie is close, it’s still on Starbreeze’s radar, so hopefully it won’t be too long until we hear more about the project.
