Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024 for PC and console

After Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was more or less successful last year, the next game is now expanding the Star Wars universe. After the game rights were no longer exclusive to EA, Ubisoft started developing Star Wars Outlaws at the beginning of 2021. Previous images and videos as well as a statement from the CEO of Ubisoft only bode well.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X. However, the title will only be available directly from Ubisoft and the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, Steam will miss out. Those who pre-order early will receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack for free. The package includes cosmetic items for the main character’s spaceship and speeder bike.

Speaking of the main character: You slip into the role of Kay Vess. Kay is something of an anti-heroine, because she is actually a simple street criminal who is determined to make it in the underworld. She is accompanied by her cute pet Nix (he is really sweet). Together you can experience various adventures in the open game world. These include blaster battles on the surface of various planets, as well as heated spaceship battles and much more.

You can also forge alliances, go bounty hunting or gather information for clients. The whole thing is embedded in an exciting story, where every decision you make will influence the course of the story.

Ubisoft has high hopes for the title

Recently, a question and answer session with the head of Ubisoft took place as part of the presentation of the current financial report. As Yves Guillaume emphasized, Ubisoft is putting a lot of faith in Star Wars Outlaws. The marketing budget for the new title was accordingly large. It even went so far that they did not want to save any money on marketing.

This statement is somewhat reminiscent of Guillaume’s statement from June this year that he sees Skull and Bones as a AAAA title. In retrospect, the players were very disappointed. Let’s hope that Guillaume is right this time. It would also be great if the release date is met and there is no further delay like with STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

There is no demo of Star Wars Outlaws yet, but the trailers so far give you a pretty good idea of the gameplay and the game as a whole. What do you think of the new Star Wars game?
