Actor David Prowse, best known for his role as Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, has died. He turned 85 years old.
It confirms the management to the actor on Twitter.
– We announce with deep and heartbreaking grief that our client Dave Prowse MBE has passed away at the age of 85, writes Bowington Management.
The English actor was born in Bristol on July 1, 1935. Throughout his career, he was best known as the man inside the suit of “Star Wars” character Darth Vader in the first trilogy.
However, it was James Earl Jones who had the voice of the character.

In addition to being an actor, Prowse was a bodybuilder and weightlifter. He won several British weightlifting championships in the 60’s.
In 1975, the actor became known in the UK as “The Green Cross Code Man”, a superhero character who promoted road safety for children.
Because of this role, he was awarded the British Order of the Knights MBE, according to the BBC. It should also be the role he was most proud of, the newspaper writes.
Dubbing
“Star Wars” director George Lucas discovered Prowse when he played the role of bodyguard for the character F. Alexander in the British-American film “A Clockwork Orange” from 1971.
According to the entertainment website LADbible did not know Prowse that Earl Jones would dub the voice of Darth Vader until he saw the first film “Star Wars: A New Hope” in 1977.
The director is said to have wanted a voice with a darker tone to the role, the website writes. According to Sky News, Prowse first recorded the voice, but was replaced due to his “peasant accent”.
But a sithlord
It was through the first three “Star Wars” movies that Prowser became known around the world as the villain Darth Vader. These came in the period between 1977 and 1983 and are episodes four, five and six in the “Star Wars” timeline.
In the movies, Darth Vader is the evil sithlord who carries out the orders of the even more evil emperor in the galactic empire.
A key question throughout the Star Wars story is the relationships of the various characters and what their already known or newly discovered biological origins mean.
This was also the case for Darth Vader’s origins and descendants.
