Star Wars KOTOR – Remake will be paused indefinitely

The development of the remake of the Star Wars RPG Knight of the Old Republic is going differently than hoped. Because of this, the title has been pushed back indefinitely.

The rights to Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic are no longer owned by EA, but now by the Embracer Group. With developer Aspyr, a remake of the cult role-playing game from Bioware is now to be created.

However, it has now been announced that the title will be postponed indefinitely. The reason is internal problems within the developer studio. This information came to light through Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who wrote a recent Article wrote about it.

According to Schreier’s information, both art director Jason Minor and design director Brad Prince have surprisingly been fired. In this course, the development was put on hold for the time being until new development opportunities and contracts were negotiated. According to Schreier, a demo version is responsible for the termination, which the business partners did not like in this status because it could not reflect the hoped-for progress.

The team would have spent far too much time and money on this version, which then led to the dismissal of the team leader. Schreier’s sources, however, were people who were not allowed to comment publicly on these developments.

Time will tell how the remake will continue.

What do you say to that?
