The confusion surrounding the remake of “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” continues. Now journalist and insider Jeff Grubb wants to know that the game is no longer being worked on.
What’s going on with the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? A new edition of the popular role-playing game was revealed in September 2021. This was followed by contradictory statements from the publisher, a change of developer as well as one Deleted trailer.
But the bad news doesn’t stop there, as journalist and insider Jeff Grubb claimed in his latest livestream. Grubb stated that the game is currently no longer being worked on.
Remake is reportedly not being worked on by any studio at the moment
Most recently, a statement from the CEO caused concern Embracer Group, the publisher of the “Knights of the Old Republic” remake, for confusion. As Axios’ Stephen Totilo reported, Lars Wingefors was quite buttoned up when asked about the project. “I realize that anything I say about this becomes a headline, so this is my only comment.”

Shortly afterwards, Jeff Grubb reported on his “Game Mess Mornings” live stream that “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” was not currently in development. “To be clear: This game is not being worked on at the moment,” said Grubb. “Quite simply, this game is not being worked on in any way by any studio. […] I looked at it and I don’t think this is news to most of you…you can piece it together. Sony is backing out and deleting mentions of Knights of the Old Republic from social media and YouTube. But to confirm it 100 percent: This game is not currently being worked on.”

Grubb already stated last May that he no longer assumed that the remake of the role-playing game will ever appear. Even back then, Embracer CEO Wingefors avoided commenting on “Knights of the Old Republic”. The game has not yet had a release date. According to Jason Schreier, the new edition is not expected to be released before 2025.
