Star Wars: Fans want to pair up two Mandalorian characters, but there is a clear rejection

It’s a well-known fact: Star Wars fans love to ship. Image source: Disney/Lucasfilm

In The Mandalorian, Din Djarin actually only has eyes for his foundling Grogu. At least so far there has been no time for romances or other flirtations. Much to the regret of one or two Star Wars fans crackle between Din and Bo-Katan Kryce saw – or at least wanted to see.

No love under Mando helmets?

After the two Mandalorians met for the first time in season 2 of the Star Wars series, they finally formed an alliance in the third season. Despite his rightful claim to the throne of Mandalore, Din himself had no interest in it, preferring to swear his loyalty to Bo-Katan.

And if actress Katee Sackhoff has her way, the alliance came about without any ulterior motives. In a new interview with The Direct The actress of Bo-Katan reveals that viewers in need of love might reading a little too much into the Din/Bo-Katan dynamic.

No, I think that behind [der potenziellen Romanze zwischen Din und Bo-Katan] There is just as much in it as in the shipping of the weapon master and Bo-Katan. I’m afraid that something like this is unavoidable as soon as a woman and a man are seen together in front of the camera. I think it’s just one of those things that fans have fun speculating about. But no, there’s nothing more to it than me and [Din-Djarin-Stuntman] Brendan Wayne fooled around on set.

In contrast to the cast of Ahsoka, the Bo-Katan actress does not support Din/Bo shipping. According to Sackhoff, nothing on this topic was cut from season 3. Aside from that, viewers also didn’t miss anything with the footage that was filmed but didn’t make it into the final episodes. According to the actress, this was probably left out for good reason:

There are no scenes that I can remember that were cut. And if so, they were probably taken out for a good reason. Of course, scenes are sometimes shortened, but mainly to benefit the pacing of the episodes. I believe that at the end of the day Jon [Favreau] and Dave [Filoni] have a very specific story and feel in mind for the series. So they remove and add as they think works best, and the TV series only really comes to life when it comes together.
