Quantic Dreams Star Wars Eclipse has lost its lead writer, which could indicate that the project is in trouble and not moving forward as planned.
There have been reports of problems with development for some time, and now lead writer Adam Williams has announced that he has left the studio after 10 years together with other talents to work on his own project. What exactly that means for Star Wars Eclipse It is not known what this means. Recently it was assumed that the release would be much later.
In a LinkedIn Profile Williams writes:
“After nearly 10 years at Quantic Dream, I’m leaving the studio to start a new one – together with a group of very talented designers and developers. We can’t give too much away at this point. We’re working on something very innovative, very special and very secret for now. More on that soon.
“I’ve already reached out to many of you at Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm to thank you for everything you’ve done with Detroit and Eclipse. It’s been a great adventure. A big thank you to the team who took this step with us – and to the investors who are the ideal partners for the next adventure. More on that soon, too.”
This step may mean that his work on Star Wars Eclipse is finished and it is simply no longer needed. In general, however, there are still fears that the development will not go entirely smoothly.
In the last statement on Star Wars Eclipse Quantic Dream only assured that it would be a game that fans of Star Wars and the studio would expect. However, further details have not been shared since the premiere in 2021.
Since then, Quantic Dream has tried its hand as a publisher for smaller projects, which will soon be releasing the road movie adventure Dustborn. However, this has come under heavy criticism due to the topics it has chosen.
