“Star Wars”: Disney is said to be canceling two films

Disney has put two planned “Star Wars” films on hold, industry magazine Variety reports. Accordingly, the film projects of Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins (“Wonder Woman”) will not be pursued any further. Jenkins’ film was supposed to be titled “Rogue Squadron,” but the title of Kevin Feige’s project was never revealed.

Including a “Star Wars” film by Taika Waititi, who is known for the Oscar winner “Jojo Rabbit” and “Thor: Love and Thunder”. Also in the works, according to Variety, is a previously unconfirmed Star Wars film from Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who previously worked on two episodes of Disney’s Ms. Marvel. According to the report, Disney plans to announce further projects in April at the “Star Wars Celebration Convention” in London.

In addition to films, several series are also in development for Disney+. This includes a second season of the series “Andor”, which has been popular with critics and fans alike. Also in the works is a series set in the new High Republic era of Star Wars canon called The Acolyte.
