Today, the executive producers of “Star Trek: Prodigy” announced that they have completed work on Season 2.
In a post on Twitter/X Dan and Kevin Hageman wrote that the finale has been mixed. A proud five years of her life went into the series. They shared photos from the studio: You can see a mixing console and the team consisting of producer Dan Hageman, director Ben Hibon, composer Nami Melumad and co-producer Aaron Waltke.
Christmas Day
From Christmas Day, all 20 episodes of the first season of “Star Trek: Prodigy” will go online on Netflix.
“Prodigy” is an animated series about a group of alien enslaved teenagers. They discover an abandoned Starfleet ship, escape with it and experience a number of adventures together with a holo-projection of Captain Janeway.
In June 2023, “Prodigy” was removed from Paramount+’s catalog. CBS Studios confirmed at the time that work on Season 2 would continue while it searched for a new home for the series. Filming for season 2 was completed in early 2022. The voice recordings and much of the animation were finished when the cancellation came. Netflix will be the series’ new home. The overall production of Season 2 is now complete, including the scoring and editing of all 20 episodes.

“The troop has only just gotten back together because each of them initially tried to get into Starfleet Academy on their own. When Admiral Janeway assigns them to join her crew on a new mission, the squad sets off to meet Admiral Janeway.”

Season 3?
Whether there will be a third season remains to be seen. The hope is that the series’ streaming numbers on Netflix will be interesting enough for the creators to make a case for producing more episodes.
