Jakarta –
Astronomers have identified for the first time a star swallowing a planet. This phenomenon was visible to astronomers 2,000 light years from Earth.
Kishalay De, an astrophysicist from MIT’s Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, said that this phenomenon is like a prediction of the end of life in which the sun will engulf the Earth in the future.
The Process of Stars Swallowing Planets
Launch Science Alertthe engulfing of some planets occurs when the star runs out of hydrogen fuel to burn its core.
This causes the pressure to decompose to the outside of fusion and the pressure of gravity. When the star’s core reacts, the star will take a lot of hydrogen from the outer layers.
Then the star will generate extra heat which can make the star larger than its original size due to heat and pressure.
Therefore when the star enlarges, it will swallow whatever is around it. From this process, researchers estimate that the Sun will swallow several planets around it, such as Earth, Mars and Venus in the next few billion years.
Different Inventions
However, researchers found things differently by studying optical and infrared wavelengths. Researchers reveal the presence of many oddities.
They found the presence of elements titanium oxide and vanadium oxide present in cold environments.
As it is known that stars produce a glow, rather than finding hot hydrogen or helium, researchers have found something else.
Researchers also found that the light comes from a type of red nova explosion or the result of the collision of two binary stars. Then the light that lasts comes from a cold material that emits infrared.
Even so, the energy produced is still very small, only one thousandth of energy.
Evolution of Planetary Systems
Researchers say that this star-engulfing planet helps to understand the effect planet-consuming planets have on the brightness, chemical composition, and rotation rate of late-stage stars.
In addition, research continues to be carried out that it is estimated that events like this occur several times a year.
