We have known since August 19th: The Acolyte, the latest Star Wars live-action series, will not be renewed for a second season. The series was met with (justified) criticism as well as review bombing – but the reason for the cancellation was probably the low viewing figures. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, one of the stars expressed surprise at this step: Lee Jung-jae, the actor who plays Jedi Master Sol: “I love what Leslye [Headland, Showrunnerin, Anm.] I think she is a great writer who is very talented in terms of storytelling, but also in creating characters and meaningful structures in the plot. I was personally very excited to see a second season under her leadership.” And he adds: “When I heard the news, I was personally very surprised.” But he is not ready to give up yet: “To be honest, I hope there will be changes in the future. You never know what will happen. Personally, I hope we will see more stories from Leslye’s second season.”
