Dark & Darker, set in a medieval setting, was popular for being hardcore enough to be said to be a mixture of Tarkov and Dark Souls. ‘Starsiege: Deadzone’, a new FPS released on the 19th, is also attracting attention for its dark and darker feel.

Developed by indie game developer Prophecy Games, Star Siege: Dead Zone is an FPS set in space. Players are a space mercenary called Raider, tasked alone or with two companions to secure valuable weapons or resources from an abandoned space station occupied by AI.

The goal is to escape after defeating the AI roaming around the space station, where the survival zone is getting smaller, or acquiring items from boxes. Not only me and my colleagues, but also other radars have been hunting for resources, so we can’t let down our guard against them.

Gun types are divided into Kinetic type, which is good for PvP, and Energy type, which is good for PvE. He wears armor and has a separate shield gauge, which increases his chances of survival in combat. Visibility can be secured by using lights or flashlights inside the facility, and each radar scan function can identify the enemy’s location for a certain period of time even in the dark. Here, you can devise a variety of survival strategies, such as hiding by breaking lights, stunning enemies using EMP barrels, and summoning elite AI to draw attention. After escaping by securing materials without weapons, you can make a weapon through combination and jump back in.

A week after its release, Star Siege: Dead Zone’s Steam user evaluation is ‘Mostly positive (833 participants, 70% positive)’. User reviews praised the potential of the game because it was free and could be played without burden, along with the opinion that it was reminiscent of Dark & Darker or Tarkov. However, some say that it is unfortunate that the high server ping, clunky controls, and item balance or matchmaking are not good.

On the other hand, Rashid participated in Street Fighter 6, and the main story ranked 3rd and the character season pass ranked 7th on the top of the top selling products worldwide on Steam.
