If there’s one trend that deserves to be welcomed with open arms from Square Enix over the past few years, it’s the attention they’re giving back to several older, admittedly, forgotten franchises. Not all of them come with a new series or sequels, but it is clear that there is an understanding of the potential to sell regardless of the low-budget efforts they are making. One that they are diligently exploring? Of course the remake process while maintaining the taste of the original, as they planned with Star Ocean The Second Story R.
For those of you who are not too familiar and miss it, Star Ocean The Second Story R is a remake of the second Star Ocean series, which incidentally is often considered the best series in this franchise. Not just high definition, they changed the visual approach to 2.5D which of course has its own charm. To welcome the closer release, Square Enix also showcased the opening anime film which of course was re-formulated with a more epic sensation. It is the Japanese duo – Suilen / Suiren who are entrusted with filling in the OST, where they were also responsible for the Hellsing OST in the past.
